Ranjit made his film debut in Basu Chatterjee’s Khatta Meetha in 1978. The movie revolves around two old people that get married and their children from their previous marriages now have to live together under the same roof. It involved clashes and hilarity. Ranjit played the role of Russie Mistry who was interested in becoming the next Sunil Gavaskar.
